I have an '86 and it came with straight bars. I put on pullbacks two years ago and I like them much better. If you are going from straight to pulls, you have to get longer cables as they do not stretch! They are very expensive. I had a choice of any Harley handlebars as the size was 3/4". The bars I got were from a wrecked savage. $20.00 Can. Good luck!
